Dr. Shaikh’s Journey
Dr. Shaikh began his medical journey at Sind Medical College (now Jinnah Sind Medical University), graduating in 1987. After completing his early training in Pakistan, he moved to the United States in 1992 and completed a 3-year residency in Internal Medicine at New York Methodist Hospital, affiliated with Cornell Universityand then his Masters in Health Science from Duke
He later practiced in Belhaven, North Carolina , where he helped establish a new ICU and taught medical students as a Clinical Associate Professor.
In 2000, Dr. Shaikh founded Shaikh Medical Clinic in Garner, NC, continuing his lifelong mission to provide compassionate, patient-centered care to the community. Dr. Shaikh is also an active member of WakeMed and UNC Johnston Hospital System, where he holds admitting privileges, ensuring continuity of care for his patients within leading hospital networks.
